Mark Payton is a landscape and wildlife photographer based in Missoula, Montana.

In Montana the winters are cold (like really cold) and really long, so it makes sense that Mark has made good use of his Winnerwell® Stoves to stay warm.

Mark prefers External Air Winnerwell® Stoves (he has both the Woodlander and Nomad versions.) Because these stoves draw air in from outside the tent, they eliminate cold drafts inside and increase the heating efficiency of the stove—because no warm air inside is being consumed by the stove and sent up the chimney pipe.

Recently Mark posted a video using one of his stoves inside an igloo. As far as we know- it’s a Winnerwell® first and a very interesting idea.

Mark has also been using a Nomad External Air (with a secondary combustion burner) inside his bell tent where he has created a very cozy camp and hang out zone.
