Nice Percolator

I have a smaller GSI perolator for years and wanted to upgrade to a larger capacity pot. The Winnerwell 14 cup percolator exceeded my expectations. First, it was packaged very well when shipped. The perolator appears well made. I like the pour spout has a hinged top that can be locked open when pouring and closed when not in use to help retain heat. I used approximately 72 ounces of water when making coffee but I could have added a little more. The wire handles cool down very quickly after removing the percolater from the heat source. The glass top is relatively thick compared to my GSI percolator.

There are only two minor negatives, and I mean they are minor. The first is the stem that holds the basket is somewhat easy to bend. but that seems to be a common issue with newer percolators. I can see myself breaking it off somewhere in the future so I hope Winnerwell will sell replacements.

The second minor issue, and more of a pet peave really, is the inside bottom where it joins the sides leaves a crease around the base which over time will hold residue. This seems to be the case on other campfire coffee percolators. The GSI percolator I have is more of a one piece design where the bottom contours to the wall of the pot with no crease. Again, it is a minor pet peave and in no way will affect performance.

If I ever have a need for another coffee percolator, I would definitely purchase again. However, I don't feel this one is going to wear out anytime soon!

Tis a beautiful percolator

I’ve had a GSI stainless steel percolator for a camp fire ( glass bulb window) for ever and makes awesome coffee. When I saw the Winnerwell version I just had to get it. First my mug of coffee holds about 325ml. The Winnerwell advertised as 14 cup makes really about 7 for me. Additionally the beautiful styled handle does remain cool on my cook top. I’m extremely happy with my purchase . Would purchase again. I do fill it up to the line each time and the only negative ( it’s probably me) is I haven’t been able to pour from the spout without some spilling down the side of the pot. Otherwise she is a beauty and I’m willing to overlook this minor issue. I do believe you will be happy with this percolator. Best coffee ever.
