Nice grate! Fits the xl firepit perfectly. Roasted some potatoes and onions this last weekend on the cast iron and it was "grate"
Nice to be able to split half if you don't want the whole thing covered
Grill Grate for Flatfold Fire Pit – XL
Grates are quality, but they are spaced too far apart in my opinion. Minor issue overall. Hot dogs will fall right through if not kept perpendicular to the grates or a mishandled burger will drop right through onto the coals. Easy to avoid while also easy to occur when cooking certain foods. A few extra grates would make them a perfect accessory.
This firepit came in super handy on our camping trip – SO glad we had it with us. We were in an area that had been getting rained on quite a bit and a lot of the wood was wet. The design of the pit helped get the fire off the ground and the holes helped the airflow so much that even some of the damp wood was able to be used as fuel. Super easy to pack, as it folds totally flat and takes up virtually no room in the vehicle. It's now a permanent part of my camp kit. 10/10 would recommend!
I recently purchased the grate for my XL Winnerwell fire pit and used it for the first time during the 4th of July summer camping event. As advertised, it comes in two pieces. But what I didn’t realize until I used it for the first time was the edges of the grate fold over the edges of the fire pit, to keep it from sliding off the fire pit. I had a little trouble lifting up one half of the grate to add more firewood. I will eventually figure this out.
But the nicest feature is that the edges of each grate wrap around the top edge of the fire pit, keeping it from sliding off the fire pit if you’re moving a large cast iron skillet around during cooking. Stainless steel is high quality and cleans up nicely.
Definitely a great buy, though a little pricey. Availability is spotty, so if you see one on line, you’d better grab one before it’s out of stock.
